When you create a chart, Harmoni applies default settings. This article describes the "out of the box" settings when you visualize data.
In this article
1. Calculation Types
Analysis with a single axis
When you create a single-axis table, Harmoni displays two default calculation types, percentages and counts. When visualizing the table, Harmoni defaults to a bar chart (non-time related axes) and displays both calculation types. If you only want percentages to display, change the table to include percentages only before visualizing.
Exceptions to this are for the funnel, pyramid, pie, donut and semi-donut charts, where no changes are required and only the percentages display when visualized.
Analysis with a crosstab or grid
In a crosstab or grid with the default settings of counts in the total row and percentages for the remaining rows, the chart displays percentages.
Harmoni automatically hides totals when a chart is created. To add totals back in, click the axis label in the interactive title and tick the Total box in the Selector.
2. Legend
The item included in the down drop zone becomes the legend in your chart. Use flip to switch the axis positions and change the legend.
3. Total Row/Column
When you visualize a table, the Total row or column is not included in the chart.
It's simple to add a total should you need this. Using the Selector, select the Total from the element list and it will display in the chart.
In the following example, average satisfaction scores display in the chart and the total is added to see the average across the two groups (Female and Male). The total element label is also changed using the Selector settings.
- In this analysis a measure is dragged to the measure drop zone.
- Click the selector and add the total element
- To rename a total element, click on the selector and use the settings option. This allows you to override the label displaying in the legend.

4. Default Chart Colors
When you visualize an analysis, Harmoni uses default colors to display for each element in the chart. If you need to change the default colors to be permanently retained at a site level please contact support@infotools.com.
You can also manually change the default color Learn more. of any given plotted item in a graph to suit your preferences.
When you rank Learn more. your analysis, colors are locked to the elements and changes are retained in the chart. At the same time, the legend is reordered to reflect the ranking.
