The Selector makes it easy to interact with items you have dragged into the analysis area. The Selector shows a list of current and recent selections, allowing you to adjust what is displayed in your analysis view.

1. Access the Selector
Interactive Title
After dragging the required items to the drop zones, click on an item in the interactive title to access the Selector. Once you click an item, it is highlighted in orange font and the Selector opens with the list of available analysis items. When clicking an item to view the analysis selections, only those dragged to the same dimension are available.
Click on the items in the interactive title to open the Selector.
Move and Resize the Selector
You can move the Selector to keep it from blocking the analysis view, and if you can't see all the items, you can easily resize the Selector pane.
- To move the Selector, grab the grip icon and drag it to a different location
- Once you have moved the Selector, it remains in the same location
- Clear or reset the analysis to return it to the default location
- You can move it over the Project tree to keep it out of the way while you plan your analysis
- To resize the Selector, click and drag the bottom right corner
- Click on an item/variable in the interactive title and the Selector opens displaying the items in that dimension
- Resize the Selector pane
- Grab the grip icon to drag the Selector to a different location
2. Modify the Analysis using the Selector
You can modify the analysis view by adding or removing items listed in the Selector. Options available are dependent on the items previously dragged into each dimension.
The Selector shows the items currently displayed in the analysis view and recent items added to the analysis using Add or Nest. Using Replace removes all previous selections in that dimension.
- Use the tick boxes to add or remove individual items
- Use Deselect All/Select All to quickly remove or add all elements
- Clear All clears items across the dimension, but keeps them available in the Selector until the analysis is cleared or reset
Add/Replace Switch
Add/Replace Down or Across Items
The Selector allows you to select single items using Replace, and multiple items using Add.
In Add mode, you see tick boxes next to all available selections, while in Replace mode you see single select, radio buttons next to each item. Replace mode lets you select one axis only, but you can select multiple elements within an axis using the tick boxes.
Add/Replace Filters
When using Add in the Selector to adjust filters, you can select multiple items and multiple elements within an item. Replace allows you to select multiple axes, but only one element per item.
- Using Replace, select one element from each axis
- Change to Add and you can make multiple selections within one axis.

Search
Finding the items you need is easy with the search option. You can use the search bar to narrow down the items in the Selector. All axes and elements, including those unticked within the active zone, are searched.
Search does not automatically change your analysis. To include only the searched items in your analysis, first deselect the current selections and then tick the items you want.
In the example below, there is a long list of activities. Using Deselect All first, and then searching for the required items, it's easy to include only the items you need.
- First, Deselect All
- Search and add items individually
- To add multiple items at once, use Select All
- Only the items you see in the search are selected
When you search and then use the Deselect All or Select All, these options only apply to the items you have searched. For example, if you search the list, then click Deselect All on the searched items, only these items are deselected.
When working with large tables, switch off Auto Run, use the search option in the Selector to choose the items you need and then click APPLY build the table with only the data you need.

3. Flip and Flip Percentage Base
You can interact with your analysis selections using the flip icon or the flip percentage base icon in the interactive title.
Flip the Table
Use the flip icon to flip a table and change the direction of the rows and columns in your analysis.
- In this example, Travel style percentages are based on Top 5 Markets
- Here, we can see percentages based on visitors from Australia
- If we flip the table, we can see percentages are based on Travel Style
Flip the Percentage Base Direction
Click the flip percentage base icon to change the percentage base direction from down to across.
When you nest an axis into the table, Harmoni uses this new axis to calculate percentages. You can select a different axis within the nested group.
- Use the flip percentage base icon to change to row based percentages
- Nesting an axis into the table adjusts the percentages to the nested axis
- Click the interactive title to select an alternative axis from the nested group
