In Harmoni, measures represent continuous variables and contain numerical values. Measures can be dragged into the Measure drop zone to apply factors to the analysis table and they can also be used in the down or across drop zones. Measures default to averages.

1. Measure Drop Zone
You can drag a measure into the Measure drop zone to apply a factor to your analysis. Only measures can be dragged to the Measure drop zone.
When dragging a measure in, the default calculation type of averages is automatically applied.
Managing Measures in an Analysis
- Create an analysis and then drag a measure to the measure drop zone to apply it to each element in an analysis.
- Drag a second measure to the measure drop zone to replace the current measure. You do not see the Add or Replace option, and the newly dragged measure always replaces the first measure.
- Access the Selector to toggle between any measures.
- Click the selected measure in the Selector to remove the measure from the analysis.
- All measures remain available to select via the interactive title, until you clear or reset the analysis.
- Create your analysis
- Drag a measure to the measure drop zone
- Click the interactive title to interact with the measure via the Selector
- Drag in a second measure to replace the first
- Change back to the first measure using the Selector
- Click the selected measure to remove it from the analysis
2. Measures in the Down or Across Drop Zones
You can also use measures in the down or across drop zones. Drag a measure (or more than one) into a drop zone and include an axis in the other drop zone.
Important: You cannot drag measures into both the down and across drop zones. Harmoni displays a grey drag pin if you drag a second measure into the other drop zone.
- Measures can be dragged into an analysis on their own
- Harmoni automatically displays the average when using a measure
- Adding an axis into the other dimension displays averages across each of the elements
- Include multiple measures in the same drop zone, dragging them all at once, or using by Add
- Drag a measure into a drop zone
- Drag an axis into the other drop zone
- The analysis displays averages
You cannot drag measures into both the down and across drop zones
