In Harmoni, collections of analyses are called stories, accessed via the STORIES menu. Users can save analyses as views and organize multiple views into stories. These stories can include tables, graphs, or dashboards from different projects. Views can be added to new or existing stories, renamed, and exported to PPT or Excel.
When a Project updates, Harmoni automatically updates the data in story views.

2. Add Views to your Story
Add a View
After creating a new analysis, if you want to save this view in the same, active story, click on the plus + icon next to the name of the story.
When there is an active story, clicking the plus + will immediately add the current analysis view to the story without opening the story preview curtain.
This quick add to the active story is indicated with a spinning icon to show the save is in progress and then a green tick displays to show the view has been saved. You can continue creating and adding analyses using the + icon to save them to the active story.
- After saving the first analysis, click the STORIES menu to return to the project
- Create an analysis to add to your story
- Click the + to quick add the view
- A green tick shows your current view is saved
- To access the story you can click on the story name or select the STORIES menu
Add Additional Views
When you are working with an active story, Harmoni lets you know whether the analysis or chart you have created is saved to your story.
The green tick that displays when you add a new view to your story, tells you that the current analysis or chart that you see in the analysis area is saved in the story. You can also see that the + (add to current story) icon is inactive as the view is already saved.
When you make changes to an analysis or create a new view when you have an active story, Harmoni displays an orange warning icon to show you have unsaved changes. The + becomes active and you can add the changed view to the active story.
3. Add Views to a New Story or to a Different Story
As you carry on with your investigation, you can continue adding views to your story, but you can also add a view to a new story, or you can add a view into a previously created story.
Add view to new story
When you select Add view to new story, Harmoni takes you to the story preview pane where you can rename the story or the view. When you return to the analysis area, the new story becomes the active story.
Add view to other story
When adding to an existing story, select Add view to other story and Harmoni presents you with all your available stories. Hover over the story tile and you can choose the option to ADD VIEW.
After selecting ADD VIEW in the story tile, the view is automatically added to the story and it becomes the active story.
- After creating an analysis, you can add it to an existing story
- Click the drop-down menu next to + and select Add to other story
- In the STORIES area, hover over a story and click Add View
- Harmoni returns you to the PROJECTS area and your newly chosen story is now active
4. Save a Dashboard View into a Story
You can save dashboard views to a story.
- Add a whole dashboard view containing several charts
- Add a zoomed-in dashboard view of one chart
When you save a dashboard view or a zoomed view to a story, although you can access the Harmoni menus, you cannot open the project tree and drag in new items.
- Click a zoomed view and you can then load the story view and access the modify and visualize menu. You won't see the project tree icon.
- Click a dashboard view and you can then load the view. Before being able to see the modify and visualize menus, you need to zoom the chart you want to make changes to. You won't see the project tree icon.
- When you make changes to a view saved from a dashboard, and you save to the current story, Harmoni will always create a new story view and won't ask you to overwrite the existing one.
-
When viewing a dashboard you can:
- Add the whole dashboard page to a story, or
- Add one zoomed-in view to a story
- You can load the zoomed view, but you will not see the Open Project Tree icon
- You can also load the dashboard page from the story and then zoom the charts
In the story view, you can identify the dashboard or zoomed-in views from the view tile icons.
If you want to add a view and have the Open Project Tree icon available after loading the story view, you need to create the analysis directly from the project tree, and not add it from a dashboard.
