Working with others to edit and finalize constructions is simpler when you can transfer ownership between collaborators. Once your construction is finalized, it is also easily transferred to the Project Owner. The recipient can accept or decline the transfer.
After transferring a UCA (User Created Axis) to the Project Owner, they can publish the construction for all users to see in the public project.

1. Transfer Ownership
After you have created a construction you can transfer it to another person. There are two options to transfer ownership of your construction.
Transfer to User
Although a construction that is shared can be copied and then edited, it's much easier to collaborate with other users by transferring ownership.
Use the Transfer to User drop box to give ownership to another user. The UCA does not have to be shared with the user to be able to transfer it to them.
The user must accept the transfer before they can access and edit the construction. Prior to the user accepting the transfer, PENDING appears next to the user name, and you can withdraw the transfer if you change your mind.
- Select the construction you want to transfer.
- Click Share/Transfer UCA.
- Drag a user from the Eligible Users list to the Transfer to User drop box.
- Click TRANSFER; a pop-up warns you about the perils of transferring.
- Click TRANSFER again to confirm.
- Click WITHDRAW to cancel the transfer.
You can also access WITHDRAW via the UCA Transfers screen.
- Select the construction and click Share/Transfer UCA
- Drag a user from Eligible User to Transfer to User
- Click TRANSFER and confirm TRANSFER again in the pop up
- PENDING status appears next to the recipient's name
- Click WITHDRAW if needed
- The item being transferred displays a red padlock
Note: Once the recipient has accepted the transfer, you cannot withdraw the transfer.
Transfer to Owner
When the construction definitions are finalized and ready to be shared with the wider Harmoni community, use Transfer to Project Owner. The process is the similar to transferring to a user.
- Select the construction you want to transfer.
- Click Share/Transfer UCA.
- In the Transfer UCA panel, click Transfer to Project Owner.
- Click TRANSFER; a pop-up warns you of the transfer.
2. Manage UCA Transfers
Once a construction is transferred to a user or a Project Owner, transfers can be managed through the UCA Transfer screen. Users can also accept or decline transfers via Notifications.
a. UCA Transfers Screen
The UCA Transfer screen enables users to manage transfers they have sent to others and also transfers that they have received.
Access the screen by clicking UCA Transfers in the action pane. There are two panels with Transfer requests sent and Transfer requests received.
| Transfer requests sent |
|
| Transfer requests received |
|
Project Owners do not see the Transfer requests sent panel as Project Owners cannot send transfer requests.
b. Notifications Panel
When a UCA is transferred to a user, they receive a notification where they can accept or decline the UCA.
When the user accepts or declines the transfer, the former owner receives a notification.
3. Withdraw Transfer Requests Sent
After transferring a UCA and prior to it being accepted, the transfer is pending and the UCA transfer can be withdrawn and returned to the original owner. You can withdraw a UCA in two places:
- With the UCA selected in the project tree, you can see WITHDRAW in the Transfer UCA panel of the Share/Transfer UCA screen for the selected UCA.
- To view all transferred UCAs, open the Transfer UCA screen. You can access the Transfer UCA screen from two places:
- Via the action pane
- Or, with the UCA selected, click View All Pending Transfers from the Transfer UCA pane.
- Transfer a UCA to a User (or Owner)
- With the UCA selected in the tree, WITHDRAW is available in the Transfer UCA panel
- Or, in the Transfer UCA screen, where all transferred UCAs can be viewed
- Withdraw the UCAs individually, or select all and click WITHDRAW
- Close the Transfer UCAs screen
3. Accept or Decline a Transfer
When a UCA is Transferred to a User
Once transferred, the recipient receives a notification and can also see the request in the UCA Transfers screen.
- After accepting the transferred construction, the item becomes a personal UCA for the recipient and the UCA is automatically shared with the original owner.
- If the UCA is declined, it returns to the original owner.
In this example, the user views the notifications but uses the options in the UCA Transfers screen.
- The user receives notification of the transfer
- They can ACCEPT or DECLINE on the notification
- Or, open the UCA Transfers pane and click ACCEPT or DECLINE there
- Once accepted, the user becomes the owner
- The item is automatically shared with the original owner
When a UCA is Transferred to the Owner
When the Project Owner receives the UCA, they must accept or decline it. Just like a user, they can accept it via the notification or the UCA Transfers pane.
After accepting the UCA, it is flagged EXCL, meaning it is excluded from being published. The Project Owner must include it in the project tree before publishing.
In this example, the Project Owner views the UCA Transfers screen then accepts the transfer via the notifications panel.
- The owner receives notification of the transfer
- They can open the UCA Transfers pane and click ACCEPT or DECLINE
- Or, they can ACCEPT or DECLINE on the notification
- Once transferred, the Owner see the construction flagged with EXCL
Project Owner Publishes the Construction
Once transferred to the Project Owner, the item is flagged with EXCL, so that it is not automatically published. This is especially useful if the project is published via an automatic publish task. The Project Owner can make changes to the label or the construction definitions if required, and then publish the project to share the construction with the wider Harmoni community.
- Once transferred, the Project Owner sees the excluded construction
- Select the item and click include
- Publish the project for all users to see the new item
