Project owners can upload the global filter spreadsheet at the project level. This allows project specific filter options and contextual accuracy to be maintained. This can help to simplify the spreadsheet when there are many, complex projects that use global filters.
A project level global filter spreadsheet overrides a site level global filter spreadsheet.

You must have Global Filters enabled to see the Global Filter menu. Contact support@infotools.com to enable Global Filters.
1. Upload the Project Level Spreadsheet
As the Project Owner, you do not need global filters enabled to upload a project level global filter spreadsheet. On the project tile, the option to upload a global filter spreadsheet is available once a project is created. However, you and any user accessing the project will not see the global filter menu. Therefore, if you need to create global filters in a project, contact support@infotools.com to enable the global filter personalization keys.

After creating your project level global filter spreadsheet, ensure that the file name is projectfilter.xlsx. The project filter spreadsheet has a different name from the site level filter spreadsheet.
To upload the project level spreadsheet:
- Access the PROJECTS area.
- Click the three dot menu on the project tile and select Upload Project Filter Sheet.
- Navigated to your projectfilter.xlsx file and click open.
Once the global filter spreadsheet is uploaded, you can load the project and check the filters are working as expected.
The project level global filter takes priority over the site level global filter
The project level filter takes priority over a site level global filter. If a site level global filter was in place prior to loading the project level global filter, the site level global filter will be ignored for the selected project. If there are other projects on the site that use global filters, they will continue to access the site level global filter spreadsheet.
Replace the Project Filter Sheet
After you have uploaded the project level spreadsheet, you can replace it with an updated spreadsheet by using the same Upload Project Filter Sheet option. If a project level sheet already exists for the project, Harmoni asks you if you want to overwrite the file. Click OVERWRITE to replace the existing file.
Download or Remove the Project Filter Sheet
After uploading the global filter spreadsheet, you will see two additional options on the project tile allowing you to download or remove the global filter sheet.
If you are unfamiliar with creating the global filter spreadsheet, please review the Create the Global Filter Spreadsheet article.
Note: Delete will not appear in the three dot menu list if you have the project loaded. You cannot delete a project when it is loaded.
Incorrect File Name
If you load the spreadsheet with the incorrect file name, the upload fails and Harmoni will let you know that the file name needs to be updated.
2. Helpful Tips
- Download the latest Global Filter spreadsheet: Always work on the most recent version of the global filter spreadsheet file. Before making new additions, download the spreadsheet from Harmoni.
- Keep a backup: Each upload overwrites the previous file and there is no automatic rollback for the global filter spreadsheet like there is for projects. Changes take effect immediately for your project.
- Copy and paste labels to save time: You don't need to type out long lists of labels into your global filter spreadsheet. Find the axis (or axes) and elements you need, create an analysis table and export it to Excel. Then you can copy and paste the labels into your global filter spreadsheet.
- Turn Global Filters off when editing your project: When editing your project, for example, adding new constructions or headings, or adding new data sources, turn global filters off.
