Whether you are a Project Owner, a Creator (non-owner), or an Explorer, you need to be in edit mode when you create new items (customized constructions) in a Project.
To enter edit mode, a Project Owner clicks the edit pen, while a Creator (non-owner) or Explorer clicks the design menu.
In this article
1. Edit Mode for Project Owners
As you design and organize a project, Project Owners need to be in edit mode. The same applies when creating new constructions. To enter into edit mode, click the edit pen.
Once in edit mode, when you click on an item in the project tree, Harmoni will automatically open the design menu letting you access the options to edit the project tree and construct new items. To search the project tree while in edit mode, click in the search bar, and Harmoni will open the search menu.
With the edit pen switched off, you cannot access the design menu
If you are analyzing the data and not editing the project tree, it is best to have edit mode switched off. Harmoni analysis processing is faster when not in edit mode.
2. Edit Mode for Creators (non-owners) and Explorers
There is no edit pen for Creators and Explorers. To create a new item, click the design menu to access the editing and construction tools.
If you click the design menu tab prior to selecting an item in the project tree, you will only see the reset tree option. The design menu is contextual and you need to select an item in the tree before you will see additional options.
You can view the definition of a construction when you have the search menu selected. Select the item you want to view the definition of and click Library/Editor from the action pane. If you want to edit the construction, ensure you click the design menu to access the edit button or add a new element.
- The search menu is active when you open a project

- A new axis with one element is created

When you do not require the design menu, ensure you click the search menu tab to allow for faster analysis processing
