Harmoni Dashboards

Dashboards are a way for Creators to organize saved stories into custom layouts and designs that can be shared with others, helping them to interact with and analyze the data.

Dashboards are made up of pages. Harmoni dashboard pages are a designed collection of items including saved story views, text items, image items and embedded content.

Creators can create and manage dashboards through DASHBOARDS in the Global Menu Bar.

1. Create a New Dashboard Page

Harmoni users with a Creator license can create dashboards. 

To create a new dashboard follow these steps:

  • Click the DASHBOARDS menu
  • Select the CREATE NEW button
  • Enter the name for the dashboard page
  • Select CREATE to open a new blank canvas where you can design your dashboard
  • The user creating the dashboard automatically becomes the owner of the page

  • Enter the name
  • Select CREATE

 

Page Owner 

When a Creator creates a dashboard page, they become the owner. They can edit and delete the pages they own. They can also download, upload, and duplicate dashboard pages.

When naming a dashboard, you cannot use special characters in the name. 

 

 

2. Load a Dashboard Page

Creators can access dashboard pages they have created (Owned by me)Learn more about User Roles.   as well as those shared by other creators (Shared with me)Learn more about User Roles.   via the DASHBOARDS area.

  • Open the DASHBOARDS area
  • Click Load to open an existing dashboard page

 

Harmoni users who view dashboards to access the data and information, typically land on the dashboard home page when they log into Harmoni and do not need to access the DASHBOARDS area to load a dashboard. Links within the dashboard allow users to move around the dashboard pages.

 

3. Edit a Dashboard Page

After saving a dashboard or reloading it to modify it, the Dashboard Owner must click the edit pen icon at the top right of the dashboard page. This opens the dashboard editing pane.

4. Rename a Dashboard Page

Creators who own the dashboard page can rename it by clicking the pencil icon next to the dashboard name on the dashboard tile. Edit the name and press enter. Please note that changing the name of a dashboard page will require navigation page links to be updated.

  • Click on the pencil icon
  • Type the new name
  • Press Enter

  

5. Delete a Dashboard Page

Creators can delete a dashboard page they own by using the 3-dot menu on the dashboard tile. 

  • Click on the 3-dot menu and select DELETE
  • Harmoni asks you to confirm the deletion by typing the word DELETE
  • Click the DELETE button or press Enter on your keyboard

This brief pause ensures any actions that irretrievably delete items are entirely intentional as this action is not reversible.

  • Open the 3-dot menu on the dashboard tile and click Delete
  • Type DELETE in the text field
  • Click DELETE or press Enter to confirm and remove the dashboard

 

6. Download, Upload and Duplicate a Dashboard Page

You can download and upload a dashboard page to a different location to save you time recreating a whole dashboard. Keep in mind that you will need to update components, but it can be a useful option to maintain design consistency or make use of common features.

You can also duplicate a dashboard within a site, an easy way to build different dashboard pages.

To upload, select the UPLOAD button and browse to the location where you have saved the relevant dashboard page. Files have the extension ".PAGE".

 

DOWNLOAD and DUPLICATE are only available to the page owners and managed through keys (i.e., not all owners can download).

Files will be downloaded to your browser's download location. If you wish to change the location the zip is downloaded to, you will need to go to your browser > settings > advanced settings > and change the Downloads location.

To Upload

  • Click the UPLOAD button next to Create New
  • Navigate to the file location.
  • Click OK

To Download/Duplicate

  • Open the 3-dot menu on the dashboard tile
  • Choose to download or duplicate a page from the menu
  • Check for duplicate pages named with _1 suffix

 

7. Replace Tile Image

To customize the image displayed on the dashboard tile, you can upload a tile image on a dashboard page.

  1. Open the 3-dot menu
  2. Select Replace Tile Image
  3. Select the image to upload
  4. Click OK
  5. Use the 3-dot menu to change the image (Replace Tile Image) or remove the image (Restore Default Image)

Supported File Formats:

Three image file formats can be uploaded. 

  • .jpg
  • .png
  • .svg

If you upload a file that does not meet these requirements, Harmoni displays the following error message.

Image File Size Limits:

  • Maximum file size: 100 KB
  • Maximum dimensions: 1000 px × 1000 px

If you upload a file that does not meet these requirements, Harmoni displays the following error message.

  • Open the 3-dot menu on the dashboard tile
  • Choose Replace Tile Image
  • Upload an image and click OK
  • The image will display on the tile
  • Select Restore Default Image to remove the image
