Discover helps you find the variables that most differentiate any target group. Descriptors are the variables that are used to profile the target group. When descriptors are set up in a project, they can be found at the top of the project tree. Simply drag a target group to the Discover drop zone and see which descriptors differentiate your target group.

Discover is a tool to profile a target group against a set of descriptor variables. Discover shows you which variables best describe your target group and also compares your target versus other groups.

The first step in using Discover is ensuring you have Discover Descriptors in the project.
2. Discover Descriptors
Descriptors can be setup by Project Owners and made available to all users. They can also be setup by Creators (non-owners) and Explorers. When setup, they are found at the top of the project tree.
Descriptors can include demographic, psychographic, or behavioral variables or some combination of all these. Descriptors are setup in the Descriptor manager and it is as simple as dragging and dropping the items you need into the drop box.

Descriptor groups created by the Project Owner are available to all published users after the project is published.
- The descriptor manager displays descriptor groups under the "Owned by project."
- In the project tree, descriptor groups are displayed above the divider line at the top of the tree.
- Creators and Explorers can create their own descriptor groups.
- The descriptor manager displays descriptor groups under "Owned by me."
- In the project tree, descriptor groups are displayed at the top of the tree under the divider line.
