Harmoni lets you access the underlying data using the Drill Through feature. Using Drill Through, analysts can assess the Record and Card View tables. As a Project Owner, you flag the variables that display as the table headers in these tables.
In this article
1. Drill Through
When items in the project tree are flagged as record or card view, these variables are brought through to the Record View and/or the Card View as headers, creating the columns in the analysis views.
Project Owners can preset project variables by using the record view and card view flags in the design menu.
The record view and card view flags are controlled by personalization keysKeys that can be applied at the user, site (all users), or company (all users) level.. If you cannot see these flag options available in the design menu, please contact Support@infotools.com.

2. Record View Flag
Most items in the project tree can be flagged as a record view. The exceptions are weights, projection, and headings. You cannot flag a grid item, but you can flag the axes contained within it.
Clicking the record view flag in the design menu marks an item as a Record View Header and a Card View Header. In the example below, Age (Grouped) is flagged as a record view and it appears in both the record view and card view.
To remove the flag, highlight the variable in the tree again and click the record view flag.
- Flag Age (Grouped) as a record view
- Use drill through to view the Record View with the record view headers
- Access the card view with the card view headers
3. Card View Flag
Flagging variables with the card view flag makes the item display in the Record Detail card view only.
In the example below, the item, Gender, is flagged as a card view header and so only appears in the Record Detail card view.
Flag Headings to create Subsections
Headings in the project tree can be flagged as a card view. When you flag a heading with the card view flag, you create subsections in the Record Detail card view. Any item under the heading that you want to appear in the card view table also needs to be flagged as a card view.
Section headings that are flagged appear as subsections on the Record Detail card view. When you have a lot of items to display within each section, the menu bar at the top allows you to click and jump directly to the section without needing to manually scroll down the view.
In the example below, you can see the section headings that are flagged with the card view flag. These appear as subsections in the card view. Make sure that variables under the heading are also flagged.
- Flag the headings required for subsections
- Access the Record Detail card view
- Subsections display along the top menus
- Click the labels to move to each subsection
